Seared scallops with Asian greens and sesame dressing | The Lazy Paleo

Seared paleo scallops with Asian sesame greens

I’m back, and I come bearing edible gifts: a simple and delicious recipe for seared paleo scallops! We’ve been traveling the past few weeks and things have been super busy with work, so this blog has certainly been living up to its name in that I was so lazy, I just didn’t post anything at all. We’ve been eating out and on the run for almost three weeks now, which means I sort of threw the clean eating thing out the window temporarily (I think it’s okay to have a lazy paleo day every now and then, because this is New York, and well… pizza). Raspberry coconut paleo bliss balls | The Lazy Paleo

Raspberry coconut paleo bliss balls

My my, aren’t these paleo bliss balls the prettiest things you’ve ever seen?  Or maybe the second prettiest thing behind Jared Leto’s perfectly ombré-d hair (may it rest in peace). I like to think of these as a sister recipe to my popular raw cacao and macadamia bliss balls , and I’d say the two are the perfect combination if you’re entertaining or need a quick snack for an event. Paleo kale salad with strawberries, avocado, goat cheese and pecans | The Lazy Paleo

Paleo kale salad with strawberries, avocado, goat cheese and pecans

When summer rolls around, I could easily live on salads. Especially paleo kale salads—the ultimate barbecue addition! My Mum taught me how to combine flavours to make a quality, well-balanced salad—she can whip up three or four to complement our Christmas lunch, and they work perfectly together every time (oh yeah, and it’s summertime over Christmas back home in Sydney). It’s important to try all her salads as you pile your plate high with delicious fresh prawns, ham off the bone and roasted turkey, because each flavour goes together beautifully. It’s a skill.  Continue reading

Cherry Ripe paleo chocolate cupcakes with coconut frosting | The Lazy Paleo

Cherry Ripe chocolate paleo cupcakes

Cherry season is here, as is my very first cupcake recipe—Cherry Ripe chocolate paleo cupcakes! I promised I’d move into Cherry Ripe-inspired baked goods after perfecting my smoothie recipe, and I have to say, I think I’ve outdone myself. You may have noticed how many times I’ve made the smoothie over on Instagram lately, and with good reason. First, the cherry, chocolate and coconut flavors are off-the-chain delicious, and second, cherries are everywhere right now so it would be rude not to, right? Continue reading

Paleo green smoothie bowl

Paleo green smoothie bowl with berries and coconut butter

Things have been absolutely crazy at Lazy Paleo HQ these past few weeks, so it’s been a while between posts. My hardworking IT guy/husband migrated my site from WordPress.com to a self-hosted site, and I’ve been playing with all the new plugins like a paleo kid in a refined-sugar-free candy store. Recipe cards, SEO optimization, Google Analytics, oh, my! I’ve also made some pretty big changes career-wise which I’m excited to tell you more about very soon. Needless to say, it’s going to be a very productive summer here in NYC! Continue reading

Chocolate pecan paleo banana bread | Gluten-free

I started testing this paleo banana bread recipe out on Mother’s Day. My Mum is a kitchen whisperer/genius, and she bakes an epic banana cake. Her recipe is always safely tucked inside her head, she never follows instructions, and it comes out perfect every time. As a tribute to my wonderful Mum (who lives on the other side of the world), I’m excited to report this recipe has exceeded all of my expectations! Continue reading

My paleo city guide: Eating out in New York

I’ve lived in New York City for four years now, and I’m excited to share my first round of recommendations for the best clean eating, paleo-friendly places to eat in New York! The list covers breakfast, brunch and coffee, quick meals on the go, fancier dinners and fun days out, and I’ll keep this page updated with new recommendations as I continue to eat my way across the city. Plenty of gluten-free and vegan options as well. Continue reading
